Kegiatan ini merupakan rangkaian perkuliahan dalam mata kuliah Perancangan Pabrik (Plant Design) yang terbuka untuk mahasiswa Teknologi Industri Pertanian (TIP). Sesi kuliah tamu ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran bagaimana langkah-langkah dalam merancang suatu pabrik serta menunjukkan praktek nyata tentang perancangan pabrik gula yang telah dilakukan oleh narasumber selaku pakar dibidangnya.
Mahasiswa program studi Teknologi Industri Pertanian (Prodi TIP) Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Trunojoyo Madura berhasil meraih silver medal dikategori lingkungan. Kompetisi ini diselenggarakan oleh organisasi Nusantara Muda yang berkerjasama dengan Universitas Nahdlatul Wathan Mataram. Kegiatan berlangsung selama empat hari mulai dari 1 Maret sampai dengan 4 Maret 2024 yang diikuti oleh kurang lebih 394 peserta yang berasal dari berbagai penjuru Indonesia.

Sedangkan terdapat 9 sub tema yang dikompetisikan, pertanian dan peternakan, energi dan teknologi, lingkungan, pendidikan, hukum dan ekonomi, pangan, kesehatan, pariwisata dan budaya serta sosial budaya dan politik. Kompetisi diselenggarakan dalam satu hari penuh, dimana seluruh peserta melaksanakan presentasi sesuai dengan kategori lomba dan tema.
Team yang diketuai oleh Rika Handayani dengan anggota Farikha Intan kiswono dan Rossa Renintan Aqsahdyah Garini dibawah bimbingan Prof. Ir. Umi Purwandari. M. App. Sc., Ph.D mengambil kategori lomba essay presentation untuk sub tema lingkungan dengan judul essay Konsep Green Café: Pengelolaan Ampas Kopi Untuk Coffee Shop Ramah Lingkungan. Menurut Rika dan team, limbah ampas kopi tidak begitu disorot, padahal memiliki kandungan yang dapat merusak lingkungan apabila tidak diolah terlebih dahulu. Sehingga melalui kompetisi ini Rika dan team ingin membagikan ide baru dalam memanfaatkan limbah ampas kopi melalui pengaplikasian konsep zero waste. Ada beberapa produk turunan yang dapat diciptakan dengan memanfaatkan ampas kopi diantaranya, sabun padat dan cair dari ampas kopi, lilin aromaterapi, cutlery (pengganti alat makan plastik), briket dan pupuk organik.

Secara keseluruhan melalui komeptisi ini berlangsung dengan sangat meriah, selain sebagai ajang mengasah kemampuan dalam menyampaikan gagasan, kompetisi ini memberikan experience yang menarik bagi seluruh peserta, dimana terdapat filed trip pulau Lombok yang diikuti oleh seluruh peserta. Sehingga selain menciptaan kompetisi berskala nasional yang berintegritas tak lupa mengenalkan budaya serta wisata yang ada di Indonesia khususnya di Lombok.
Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (Abdimas) kali ini merupakan rangkaian pengabdian yang rutin dilakukan oleh Prodi Teknologi Industri Pertanian (TIP) setiap semester. Abdimas periode semester ganjil 2023/2024 dilakukan di SMKN Rembang, Pasuruan dengan dua tema pengabdian. Tema pertama, dilakukan oleh TIM 1 yang dipimpin oleh bapak Askur Rahman dan bapak Cahyo Indarto dengan topik yang disampaikan terkait pembuatan produk kewirausahaan dengan memanfaatkan potensi sumber daya lokal. Para peserta yang terdiri dari para guru SMKN Rembang sangat antusias mengikuti penjelasan dari pemateri dan diikuti dengan praktek pembuatan susu berbahan dasar ubi ungu dari mahasiswa.

Sekitar 40 siswa/siswi mengikuti kegiatan didalam aula pertemuan. Diakhir acara, semua peserta mengisi link evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan sebagai bentuk evaluasi terhadap efektifitas abdimas.

Kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini merupakan kolaborasi antara mahasiswa dan pihak Rutan Kelas IIB Bangkalan yang bertujuan untuk mengedukasi warga rutan terkait pemanfaatan sampah organik yang dapat dijadikan sebagai produk serbaguna yakni eco enzyme. Kegiatan ini juga dapat meningkatkan keberlanjutan lingkungan di dalam rutan maupun sekitar rutan.

Kegiatan ini mencakup beberapa tahapan yakni pembuatan eco enzyme dimana pada kegiatan ini dilakukan pembukaan kegiatan PKM dan dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan sosialisasi tentang eco enzyme dan kegiatan demo pembuatan eco enzyme kepada warga binaan rutan. Dalam kegiatan ini warga binaan sangat antusias dalam pembuatan eco enzyme. Widiyah wati selaku ketua tim menyampaikan “kegiatan itu dilakukan sebagai respons dari problem sampah khususnya yang berada di Kabupaten Bangkalan, oleh sebab itu diperlukan pengolahan sampah”
Tahap selanjutnya adalah kegiatan pengaplikasian eco enzyme menjadi produk dimana pada kegiatan ini warga binaan diajak untuk membuat beberapa produk dengan menggunakan eco enzyme yakni sabun batang, sabun cair dan detergen cair. “Sabun yang dibuat dengan eco enzyme ini lebih ramah lingkungan karena terbuat dari bahan-bahan alami dan tidak mengandung bahan kimia yang berbahaya. Selain itu sabun eco enzyme ini dapat membantu mengurangi limbah sampah organik, dan dapat dikombinasikan dengan bahan bahan alami lainnya seperti jahe, daun kelor, dan jeruk nipis” tutur Rahmad
Selanjutnya tahap terakhir yakni kegiatan pengenalan alat fermentor yang digunakan dalam pembuatan eco enzyme dan dilanjutkan dengan penyerahan alat fermentor dan buku pedoman mitra kepada Rutan Kelas IIB Bangkalan sebagai bentuk kepeduliaan mahasiswa terhadap permasalahan sampah yang berada di rutan. Kegiatan ini sekaligus menutup kegiatan PKM di Rutan Kelas IIB Bangkalan.

Tim PKM PM Eco Enzyme berkomitmen untuk memberikan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui kegiatan ini dengan harapan bahwa warga binaan di Rumah Tahanan (Rutan) dapat mengembangkan pemahaman tentang permasalahan sampah organik hingga penanganannya. Salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan bahan yang tidak terpakai menjadi eco enzyme. Dengan demikian mereka dapat mengubah limbah organik menjadi produk yang memiliki nilai tambah.

“Kegiatan yang diusulkan sangat bermanfaat, menambah wawasan, tentang kerja sama dengan warga binaan, dan mereka dapat memahami pemanfaatan limbah organik. Harapan saya akan ada kegiatan lanjutan yang tidak hanya menangani sampah organik melainkan non organik,” ujar bapak nanang, salah satu staff di Rutan Kelas IIB Bangkalan.
Mahasiswa Mata Kuliah Teknologi Pengemasan, mengikuti acara kuliah tamu yang diselenggarakan secara daring pada tanggal 25 Oktober 2023. Materi kuliah tamu dengan tema ‘’Biodegradable Packaging’’ disampaikan oleh Dr. Isroi, M.Si. dari PT Harapan Interaksi Swadaya (Greenhope).

Acara dimulai dengan pembukaan dan perkenalan pemateri, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan materi yang disampaikan oleh Bapak Dr. Isroi, M.Si., selanjutnya dilakukan diskusi dan tanya jawab antara mahasiswa dan Bapak Bapak Dr. Isroi, M.Si, kemudian diakhiri dengan penutup.
Tujuan dari kuliah tamu ini adalah memberikan informasi dari narasumber Praktisi/Perusahaan mengenai potensi, teknologi produksi dan pasar biodegrable packaging. Bapak Dr. Isroi, M.Si. menyampaikan bahwa ’’Manusia tidak dapat hidup tanpa plastik tetapi kita dapat menggantikan plastic konvensional dengan menggunakan plastic biobased atau biodegradable plastik’’. Permasalahan sampah plastic tidak hanya dihadapi oleh Indonesia, namun juga dihadapi oleh dunia. Oleh karena itu sangat penting untuk mengurangi penggunaan plastik dan menggantikan bahan pembuatan plastik dengan bahan yang alami agar lebih ramah lingkungan.

Produksi biodegradable packaking telah banyak dilakukan oleh beberapa perusahaan dan sudah mulai merambah pasar internasional. Namun ada beberapa tantangan yang dihadapi oleh perusahaan atau pelaku industri biodegradable packaging yaitu bahan baku dan proses pembuatan biodegradable packaging masih termasuk mahal sehingga harga jualnya juga lebih mahal dari plastik konvensional. Oleh karenanya, penggunaan biodegradable packaging masih sangat terbatas. Dengan adanya kuliah tamu ini diharapkan menjadi sebuah awal yang baik agar lebih banyak sivitas akademika terutama dari program studi teknologi industry pertanian dalam mengembangkan biodegradable packaging.
Salah satu progam MBKM adalah kegiatan magang industri. PT Cahaya Pasifik Raya merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di komoditas kopi yang berlokasi di Kabupaten Tulungagung. Perusahaan ini berkegiatan dengan memproduksi kopi dengan berbagai jenis seperti biji kopi disangrai, bubuk kopi, kopi kemasan instan, dll. Perusahaan ini dilengkapi dengan berbagai fasilitas produksi yang memadai sehingga mahasiswa memiliki kesempatan untuk mempelajari topik-topik perkuliahan.
Program studi TIP melakukan kegiatan supervisi MBKM Magang Industri di PT Cahaya Pasifik Raya di Kabupaten Tulungagung. Kegiatan supervisi ini bertujuan untuk melakukan monitoring dan evaluasi terhadap pelaksanaan MBKM Magang Industri di PT Cahaya Pasifik Raya di wilayah Kabupaten Tulungagung, Jawa Timur.
Mahasiswa yang mengkuti kegiatan MBKM di PT Cahaya Pasifik Raya adalah Zahir (190331100094) dan Arifatun Nasikhah (200331100047). Kegiatan ini membawa banyak manfaat bagi mahasiswa diantaranya mahasiswa dapat melakukan pembelajaran berbasis kasus dan proyek, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kompetensi softskill dan hardskill mahasiswa. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini perlu untuk dipertahankan dan ditingkatkan kualitas pelaksanaanya.
Dari hasil supervisi yang dilakukan pada hari Jumat, 22 September 2023, mahasiswa dapat melaksanakan kegiatan MBKM Magang Industri dengan baik dan sangat diterima oleh perusahaan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan mulai dari tanggal 21 Agustus 2023 s/d 31 Desember 2023.
Mahasiswa Prodi TIP mengenalkan jamu tradisional kepada 10 mahasiswa asal Palakky University Olomouc, Ceko. Kegiatan ini dikemas dalam culture internship yang dilaksanakan oleh Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Trunojoyo Madura (UTM) berkolaborasi dengan International Relation Office – IRO UTM, Selasa 19 September 2023.
Penjelasan tentang bahan jamu Madura
Bertempat di laboratorium lantai 3 Prodi Teknologi Industri Pertanian, kegiatan dimulai dengan penjelasan tanaman obat oleh Dr. Diana (Dosen Program Studi Agroekoteknologi) kepada peserta. Tanaman yang dikenalkan mulai dari kunyit, kunyit putih, kencur, temu kunci, asam jawa, temulawak, jahe emprit, jahe gajah, dan cabe jamu. Sebagian besar tanaman ini menghasilkan rimpang yang banyak dimanfaatkan untuk pengobatan tradisional dan minuman jamu.

Setelah itu, peserta mengikuti sesi praktik membuat kunyit asam, salah satu jamu tradisional yang sangat familiar bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Tim mahasiswa yang terdiri dari Rika Handayani, Farikha, Rossa, Dimas, dan Sholehuddin menyiapkan sejumlah bahan baku kunyit asam. Mereka mengajak peserta untuk mengupas dan mengiris bahan, hingga minuman siap dikonsumsi. Selain itu, peserta juga dikenalkan dengan jenis jamu lainnya, yaitu sinom, beras kencur, sirih pinang, dan pokak.

Secara umum, seluruh peserta mengikuti rangkaian kegiatan dengan antusias. Dari sekian jamu, peserta memilih sinom sebagai minuman favorit, diklaim paling ”drinkable”. Kegiatan ini diharapkan memberikan pengalaman berbeda dan bermanfaat kepada peserta, sekaligus mengenalkan jamu sebagai warisan budaya Indonesia.
Program Studi Teknologi Industri Pertanian (TIP) Universitas Trunojoyo Madura melakukan kunjungan industri ke PT Yakult dan PT AICE yang berlokasi di Mojokerto Jawa Timur. Kunjungan industri ini dilakukan dalam rangkaian acara PROTEIN (Pengenalan dan Orientasi Mahasiswa Baru Teknologi Industri Pertanian) yang bertepatan pada tanggal 4 September 2023. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dunia industri secara langsung pada mahasiswa baru TIP angkatan 2023/2024.

Melalui kunjungan industry ini diharapkan mahasiswa dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan wawasan tentang industry. Kegiatan ini merupakan kegiatan tahunan prodi dan himpunan dalam rangka kegiatan pembelajaran di luar kampus. Selain itu, kegiatan ini diharapkan menghasilkan kerja sama antara Program Studi Teknologi Industri Pertanian bagi dari segi pengajaran, penelitian atau pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan PT Yakult dan PT AICE.
